Lyon and its surroundings · half day or full day

City tours and excursions in Lyon, with a private chauffeur

You want to see Lyon and the country around it without driving, without hunting for a parking space, without watching the clock. A city tour is booked like any other journey: an address, a departure time, a route you choose. The chauffeur drives and waits for you at every stop. He does not narrate the visit, that is not his trade; he knows the region, the roads and the quiet hours. The day can reach the vineyards, the Beaujolais villages or the first slopes of the Alps.

From the first call to the drop-off: how the day runs

You call or you write. You tell us where you start, how many of you there are and what you would like to see. We suggest a plan and a duration: three hours minimum, four hours for a half day, nine hours for a full day. The price is agreed before departure and given on request. An urgent request is set up in under an hour.

On the day, the chauffeur arrives at the address you gave, at the agreed time. He drives you from one place to the next and stays put during your stops: the car is there when you come back out, with your things still inside. Change your mind on the way, add a stop, head home early, and the programme follows. At the end of the day he takes you wherever you need to be, in Lyon or beyond.

THE MOVING PRESTIGE EXPERIENCE

A moment to yourself.

Who it is for, and which vehicle

A family passing through Lyon who want to see the city, the Halles and Vieux Lyon in a morning. A couple heading up into the Beaujolais or out to Pérouges for the day. A group finishing a conference with an afternoon among the vines. Foreign visitors who would rather be spoken to in English and have the driving taken off their hands. These are the requests we receive most often.

The vehicle follows the number of travellers. E-Class or GLE 400 for up to three, S-Class for two, V-Class for seven. Beyond that, the Sprinter VIP carries fifteen passengers plus a seat kept for a guide, should you have hired one. Wi-Fi and a bottle of water on board, one piece of luggage each. The area covered is all of France and Italy, departing from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

A chauffeur, not a guide: what the service covers

The chauffeur drives and waits. He does not give the tour: he will not comment on the monuments and he does not stand in for a qualified guide. If you want commentary, hire a guide; we are happy to carry both, and the Sprinter VIP has a seat set aside for exactly that. What the chauffeur brings is knowledge of the roads, the access points and the quiet hours, and the certainty that you will never be left waiting on a pavement.

The rest is a matter of manner. A clean car, a chauffeur in a suit, French and English, discretion throughout. One contact follows your day from the first call to the return, reachable around the clock. On private journeys the rate is a single one: no night, weekend or public holiday surcharge. Almost thirty years of the trade sit in those details.

The details

What people ask us

Does the chauffeur act as a guide?

No. He drives, he drops you off, he waits and he leaves with you. He knows the region and the access points, but he does not comment on what you are seeing: that is not his trade. If you want a qualified guide, hire one and we will carry them along.

Can I change the route during the day?

Yes. You book a duration, not a fixed list of stops. Add one, drop one, linger somewhere longer: the chauffeur follows. If the day runs past the time booked, tell us while you are out and we agree on the extension together before carrying on.

What is the minimum booking for a car at my disposal?

Three hours. Beyond that we count a half day of four hours and a full day of nine, which leaves room for an outing into the Beaujolais or a loop towards the first foothills. The price depends on the duration, the vehicle and the number of passengers, and is given on request.

Can you collect us straight from the airport or the station?

Yes. The day can start at Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport, at Part-Dieu or at Saint-Exupéry TGV. We track your flight and move the pick-up with the actual landing. Waiting is included for up to one hour at the airport, counted from the scheduled landing time, and thirty minutes at a station.
