Private chauffeur from Lyon to Val d’Isère, 236 km and 3 h 20 by road

From central Lyon the drive is 236 km and 3 h 20: motorway to Albertville, then the whole length of the Tarentaise. From Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport, allow 223 km and 3 h 05. It is a long run, which is exactly why it is planned in advance: we track your flight and move the pick-up to the actual landing, rather than leaving you waiting or hurrying you along.

By train, the access station is Bourg-Saint-Maurice, at the end of the valley. From there, 32 km and 45 min of road remain up to Val d’Isère, climbing through Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise. The chauffeur meets your train, with thirty minutes of waiting included; at an airport, waiting runs to one hour, counted from the scheduled landing time.

Three hours and twenty minutes on the road are prepared in the boot as much as on the map. One piece of luggage per person, skis with the rest, and the vehicle chosen for the group: seven seats in a V-Class, three in an E-Class or a GLE 400, fifteen in the Sprinter VIP with a seat for the guide. On board, Wi-Fi, a bottle of water, and a chauffeur in a suit who speaks French and English.

In the resort we drop you at the exact address, chalet or hotel, not at the entrance to the village. Val d’Isère stretches from La Daille up to Le Fornet: tell us the quarter, it changes the last kilometre. Night arrivals and Saturday changeover days are part of the job; on those days we leave earlier, and we say so if the road forces a change.

In winter, the Haute-Tarentaise has to be earned. Snow, drifts, Saturday traffic: the climb from Bourg-Saint-Maurice can take longer than the 45 min on paper. The vehicles are equipped for the season and the chauffeurs know the valley. When conditions turn, we bring the departure forward rather than hope to make up time at the end.

In summer the resort stays open: the Col de l’Iseran, the cyclists, the walkers and the glacier skiing. The rate does not change from one season to the next, and no night, weekend or public holiday surcharge applies to private journeys. For the way back, we leave Val d’Isère with your flight time in hand, road margin included. The price is given on request and agreed before departure.
